Pastor Corner
We are just a little over a week away from the Made to Count Weekend. September 12 is the startup day for the third weekend in the Church Renewal series. The Prayer Vigil signup sheet will be available this Sunday for you to sign up to pray during the 24 hours leading up to the event. I hope you are praying already. The significance of this weekend cannot be understated. It is an amazing time of worship, fellowship and spiritual growth. It can only be successful if you participate yourself and if you approach it with an open heart willing to allow God to use you.
Pray for Brenda and Tom Boberg as they lead the sessions. Pray for Debra Barkovitz and Shelley Brown as they coordinate the event for our church. Pray for all the lay people coming from North Carolina and Virginia to our church. Pray for fellow church members that they will understand the importance of being present at these meetings. Pray that this is the beginning of something new in our church body.
The beauty of lay renewal is that it reinforces all that we are trying to teach you about service. Service is the key to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Only if we are all working will the mission of the church be accomplished. Scripture tells us to “equip the saints.” This weekend is a means of doing that.
I want you to listen carefully to the people who come to minister to us. They are not here by happenstance. They have prayed diligently about coming to Plymouth and they are responding to God’s call to be here. We can learn a tremendous lesson in listening to testimonies of people touched by the hand of God. Pray and get ready for a blessing.
God Bless
Jimmy
