First Baptist Church of Plymouth, North Carolina
To Love God and Share the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor Corner

I am amazed at your generosity during the month of February.  You responded to the needs around us in a fantastic way.  You surpassed our goal for the Heck-Jones offering as you gave over $1,300 to promote ministries in the state of North Carolina.  You gave over $1,000 to the Faith Comes by Hearing campaign.  This will be enough to translate one book of the New Testament into the Pangasnian language of a people group in the Philippians.  You provided the money and the items for 45 buckets to be sent to Haiti through the Buckets of Hope campaign with the Baptist Men of North Carolina. At $35.00 a bucket that equals $1,575.  Also, you gave a love offering to the Gideons of Washington County of $800.   Thanks for giving from your heart to these worthy causes.

We continue with the Faith Comes by Hearing program through Easter. If you don’t have one of the CDs, I have some at the church office you can pick up at any time.  We are attempting to listen to the New Testament during the forty days of Lent, but you can listen to it at any time.  The important thing is that you listen to the Bible and allow it to speak to you personally.

I will be in Revival services at Riverview Baptist Church in Washington next week.  The services begin on Sunday evening at 7PM and go through Wednesday, March 10.  Be in prayer for these services as God moves among His people.  Riverview is located on Clark’s Neck Road just west of Washington.

Holy Week services will be at the First Christian Church this year.  The Washington County Ministerial Association is asking different churches to provide a soup and sandwich meal during the week.  Our church will have one of those days.   The WMU will be coordinating this effort.  Holy Week will take place March 29-April 2.   As always, we will receive an offering during the week to go toward the Closing the Gap Scholarship fund that the Association sponsors each year

God Bless,

Jimmy
